Off to the Races

Issue: Corporate legal counsel had 3 days to search for and segregate potentially privileged documents for 7 Custodians. The data in question was comprised of PST’s that had just been collected; around 250 GB in size. The typical approach would be to process and ingest the data into a review platform, which in this instance would have taken time the team did not have or to run searches across data that would not allow the team to actually view the documents, before they were exported to another review platform for a final QC pass before producing. Again, time the team did not have.

Solution: Modus immediately indexed the data and ingested it directly into Relativity+. The review team was able to access the data and begin the review within a few hours. The potentially privileged documents were quickly identified and tagged for exclusion within Relativity+, allowing the balance of the data to be produced before the 3 day deadline.

Winter Sport

Issue: The case team at a large law firm had one wintery weekend to review and produce over 400 GB of collected data. In a typical scenario, the data would have had to have been natively processed before review, and even allowing for rolling deliveries to the review platform, would have meant the case team would have not been able to begin the review for at least half a day.

Solution: The data was indexed and ingested into Relativity+ on a rolling basis, allowing the 30-user review team, to access batched documents within hours. First-pass and second pass review layouts were configured for the team, with a final Priv QC pass set up for the final review and the reviewers were able to move quickly through the documents, tagging/coding/redacting for production around the clock. By the end of the weekend the final QC review was being completed as production tiff’ing had begun. The productions were completed on time, accurately and efficiently.

Needle in a Haystack

Issue: Poorly collected data was given to us and our client, a local law firm turned to us for help. They had over 500 GB of messy data, an extremely tight budget to work within and little time to find a specific set of documents.

Solution: The data was indexed and ingested into Relativity+ and the review team was reviewing within the hour. They identified the critical set of data and we were able to export out a clean production by the end of the second day. Money saved, deadline met. Happy client, relieved case team!
